Food Challenge

We had our first food challenge today at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Luke did such a good job taking the doses of egg. It was applesauce mixed with an egg powder, and he had several doses without symptoms. On his last dose before he was to eat real scrambled eggs, he developed a hive on his back. Bad news is that he didn't pass the food challenge. The good news is that his reaction was very mild and we will probably try again next year. So overall it was encouraging. Along those lines, we have a milk challenge scheduled for May 17. We got his blood work back and it was negative for a milk allergy. That is a positive sign towards growing out of it, but the food challenge is the true test, so, we'll see how it goes.

OH Yeahhhhhh! He's passing tests already and he isn't even in school! I'm glad to hear he is doing as well as he is. We will be in prayer for the 17th. That would be the biggy in my book!

Clara's costume was made by yours truly. It was old chair fabric. Something heavy that looked like period clothing. She will be Fanny Crosby in the Elementary Program in June. She's learning what it means to be blind. She has been blindfolded and had to walk around without hurting herself. It's good experience for her to understand just how difficult it is for folks with disabilities. She's been practicing with Apollo so she knows how to hold a baby correctly. Then, of course, the baby dies in the last scene. The tears aren't coming as readily!!!!! Now if it were Molly, she could turn them on and off in a heartbeat.

I had a food challenge myself recently...we were in Orlando for a week on vacation and stayed at the Hard Rock. According to my scale, I failed MISERABLY..lol

Glad to hear our little guy might be able to have a chocolate shake in his future!

Cool costume, the twins had 'Colonial Day' at their school last year and I made Mae's costume..which for some odd reason she didn't want to keep for future use...hhmmmmm...
